What this page is for

When something is wrong, imprecise, or no longer matches reality, we fix it and record the change here — the date, the location, and what changed. Entries are not removed.

Two reasons for doing it this way: readers can see what has changed, and it constrains us. An error that has been written down cannot be treated as though it never happened.

Only corrections to the content itself go here — something we got wrong, stated imprecisely, or that no longer matches reality. Redesigns, a new web address or new tools are not corrections, so they are not listed here.

2026-10-07 · The privacy page said the site ran no analytics

Up to October 2026 the site genuinely ran no analytics, and the privacy page said so. Google Analytics 4 has been live on every page since, which made that wording untrue. Change: the privacy page now has an "Analytics and cookies" section setting out what is sent to Google and how to switch it off, and the claims about no analytics and no cookies have been removed.

2026-08-28 · The volatility gauge described its prices as "live"

The volatility gauge originally said "live market data", but it actually reads Binance's prices once when you open the page and does not refresh afterwards. Those are not the same claim. Change: the description now says the prices are read once when the page opens and do not auto-refresh, and the tool notes explain that if the prices cannot be read, the page says so plainly and shows no figures — none are written in advance to fill the gap.
